Decade of Dominance

Well it is complete...Army has now lost 10 straight games to Navy! That's tough to swallow but I must say that army played an amazing game! The energy that the Corps of Cadets had at the game was amazing! To be apart of such a historic rivalry is an honor to me! Army-Navy is truly a special day! I thought I might give you some insight into a day in the life of a cadet at Army-Navy:

6:00 am - wake up
7:30 am - show up to B3 parking lot at FedEx field.
8:00 am - pass though security an get wanded by secret service (because the president was attending! How exciting)
8:30 am - search for some kind of breakfast among various companies only to come up empty handed.
9:00 am - form up to take accountability
9:30 am - lean up against your buddy in the parking lot and take a nap
9:50 am - wait in line for 30 mins to use a portapotty
10:10 am - form up and get ready to step off for March on
10:30 - form up and get ready to step off for march on
11:00 am - form up and get ready to step off for march on
11:10 am - FINALLY! Step off and march on to FedEx field! (which was pretty freakin awesome)
12:30 pm - LUNCH .....yess!!
2:30 pm - GAME TIME!

Navy jumped out to a 14 point lead and no one said anything but everyone was thinking "here we go again!" but the second quarter belonged to Army! Combining stonewall defense with productive drives down the field, Army rallied to tie the score at 14-14 right before half! At this point I thought that this was the year! We had all the momentum!

The second half opened with a big Navy kickoff return and a quick drive that sent a statement that Navy wasn't going down without a fight! But in rare fashion Army again responded. Just over midfield Trent Steelman dropped back to pass (SHOCKER) and threw a beautiful pass to his receiver who took it 15 yards for a passing touchdown (UNHEARD OF)!

Down the stretch turnovers lead to two Navy field goals. On Army's last drive they were deep in Navy territory but faced a 4th and 7. They went for it and called a horrible play resulting in a sack. That was the game and Navy ran the clock out to win the game.

It was a heartbreaker but there is always next year! It was great game an just an awesome experience! GO ARMY BEAT NAVY!!
